Perhaps you have tried talk therapy and feel like you need something different. Traumatic experiences can leave us thinking, behaving, and feeling differently. There are trauma-based approaches that can help relieve us of the symptoms we currently feel and allow us to move on with our lives.

One of the evidence-based psychotherapies I use is EMDR, short for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. Although the term itself sounds long and intimidating, the approach is not! This effective type of therapy uses the natural healing powers of our own minds to heal from disturbing or scary events and allows us to live the healthy and happy life we imagine.
